Our Facility

A facility built for precision reconditioning — not general repairs

PRT Engine Reconditioning is set up as an engine reconditioning and machining facility. Work flows through dedicated stations so each stage — strip, clean, inspect, machine, measure, assemble — is done in the right place with the right tooling.

Machining & measurement stations

The stations that carry out the work

Stations are described by the work they perform. Equipment make, model and specification sheets are pending from PRT and are not listed until confirmed.

Cylinder Boring & Honing

Bores cut and honed to size with controlled surface finish for ring seating.

  • Cylinder boring to standard or oversize
  • Plateau honing and finish verification

Crankshaft Grinding

Main and crankpin journals ground to required undersize with verified geometry.

  • Main & crankpin journal grinding
  • Run-out and finish verification

Line Boring

Main bearing housings machined in one set-up to restore a single true axis.

  • Restoring main bore alignment
  • Bearing housing sizing

Surfacing & Block Work

Block and head deck faces machined true for dependable sealing.

  • Deck surfacing
  • Component thread and fitment repair

Valve & Seat Reconditioning

Valve guides and seats restored so valves seal consistently.

  • Guide reconditioning
  • Seat cutting and sealing verification

Measurement & Gauging

The shop's measuring standard — bores, journals, decks and clearances are verified.

  • Dimensional inspection of bores and journals
  • Clearance verification during assembly

Content placeholder — PRT to confirm details.

Detailed machinery inventory — machine names, makes, capacities and specification sheets — will be published here as PRT confirms them. Nothing is listed speculatively.

Workflow

How work moves through the facility

Work follows the reconditioning route through the shop, so a component only reaches a machining station once inspection and measurement say it is ready.

01

Strip & clean

Engines are received, disassembled and cleaned so components can be assessed.

02

Inspect

Crack detection and condition checks happen before any machining is planned.

03

Measure

The measuring area verifies bores, journals, decks, housings and clearances.

04

Machine

Boring, honing, grinding, surfacing and line boring restore components to spec.

05

Assemble

A controlled assembly area brings measured components together in sequence.

Precision & measurement

Reconditioned to measurement. Not guesswork.

The measuring area is not an afterthought to the machining hall — it is what decides whether machining happens at all. The same discipline governs clearances during assembly.
